The companies we target are proven successes at the time we invest, and our mission is to help them develop into even more valuable enterprises--without disrupting a winning culture. 

While the opportunities and needs of each company will vary, Spectrum has developed a proven partnership model to create value.

Investing - Spectrum is a lead investor and active board member in all of our companies.  Often we invest in companies we have followed for months, if not years, beginning our investment with an already strong relationship with management in place.

Recruiting - We back enormously talented founders and other leaders who have already built a successful company.  Often these teams seek additional executives, and Spectrum brings a vast and proven network to help find experienced talent to round out a management team or board.

Building - Spectrum helps growing private companies build the finance function and other operating infrastructure necessary to build a foundation for continued growth and success.

Partnering - We utilize our network to help our portfolio companies identify and complete strategic alliances, new channel relationships, and other business development opportunities.

Acquiring  - Before our investment, many of our portfolio companies were focused on growing organically with a single product or market opportunity.  We help augment that growth through all elements of an acquisition strategy - idea origination, due diligence, financing, negotiating, and closing.

Financing - We have helped our portfolio companies raise tens of billions of dollars of additional debt and equity capital, both publicly and privately, to finance their growth and acquisition strategies.

Exiting - When it comes time to realize our collective effort in making a great company even greater, Spectrum plays a critical role.  We help choose advisors for a sale or an IPO and work closely with management and advisors in every step of the process to maximize value.
