Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Inc. is one of the largest privately-held general insurance agencies and program specialists in the country. Arrowhead provides outsourced product development, marketing, underwriting and administrative services to national insurance carriers. As a general agent and program specialist, the company is authorized by insurance carriers to transact business on their behalf and has the authority to issue policies, bind the insurance carrier and provide administrative support, but does not assume any underwriting risk. Arrowhead distributes its products through a network of over 7,000 brokers across the country and does not sell directly to insureds. Spectrum led a recapitalization of AGIA providing liquidity to non-management shareholders and partial liquidity to Arrowhead's senior team, who continue to run the business post closing of the transaction.

CEO Biography

Frank Ruyak has been Chief Executive Officer of Arrowhead since 2003. Mr. Ruyak is responsible for operational oversight of Arrowhead's commercial lines, business development and critical support services. He joined Arrowhead in 2000 as President and CEO of Arrowhead Management Company, the holding company for the various Arrowhead businesses. Mr. Ruyak has 30 years of insurance and reinsurance experience. He brings a broad knowledge base to Arrowhead that has helped bring major advances to both the breadth and quality of Arrowhead's product portfolio and increased revenue streams. Mr. Ruyak served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Constitution Reinsurance Company, where he was responsible for operational support of all underwriting and production activities for over 16 years. Prior to that, he headed the multi-line reinsurance underwriting division of Prudential Reinsurance Company. Mr. Ruyak holds a B.F.A., in architecture and urban planning from Princeton University and attended the Advanced Management Program in The Wharton School.
