NEP, Inc. provides production facilities and engineering support for the remote broadcast of live sports and entertainment events through a fleet of mobile production units. The company provides mobile TV production services for numerous high-profile events, including the Super Bowl, the Olympics, and ESPN's Monday Night Football. Spectrum co-led the acquisition of a majority equity interest in NEP. The investment provided liquidity to selling shareholders and capital to support current and future customers in the transition to High Definition (HD) broadcast technology. Working with the Founders, Spectrum supported the recruitment of new senior management; the acquisition of the core assets of a primary US competitor; the acquisition of a UK based mobile production company to form the beachhead for a European expansion; and several refinancings. American Securities Capital Partners acquired NEP in February 2007.
