Zango, Inc. is a provider of online marketing services that delivers highly targeted advertising impressions to Internet consumers. Users download the company's desktop software application through an opt-in process at the web sites of partners that participate in the company's ad-sponsored content network, or as part of a bundled download with free software programs such as toolbars. Once the application is installed, users receive advertising impressions as the result of specific keywords or search terms. Spectrum's minority investment provided partial liquidity to founding shareholders.
Keith Smith has been Zango's Chief Executive Officer since co-founding the company in 1999. Under his leadership, Zango has raised more than $150 million in debt and equity financing and successfully integrated four mergers and acquisitions. Prior to starting Zango, he was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cyber Mortgage, Inc., an online mortgage company. After selling Cyber Mortgage to IndyMac, he stayed on board as Vice President of the e-Commerce division of LoanWorks, a direct and online mortgage lender. Before starting Cyber Mortgage, he held positions at Continental Savings Bank (now HomeStreet Bank) in Seattle, WA and at Countrywide Funding Corporation. Mr. Smith serves as a member of the board of directors at the WSA, Washington states' oldest and largest technology trade organization.
