Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned”, the awards were presented to winners on Friday night during a dinner event attended by more than 500 people at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The event was broadcast via Livestream.

More than 1,500 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Executive of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year, among others. Melinda McLaughlin of Extreme Reach took home the gold in her category.

The gold award recognizes McLaughlin’s achievements in 2017 as CMO of Extreme Reach and her ongoing work mentoring women in their careers. Through an approach that combines a scientific focus on metrics, respect for the art of marketing and a creative energy that inspires her team, Melinda is an outstanding example of what a 21st century businesswoman can be. In one year she launched new products, pioneered an educational campaign targeting the ad industry and spearheaded a complete company rebrand for Extreme Reach.

“I am honored to be among the amazing women from all parts of the globe who were recognized by the Stevies this year. It is utterly inspiring to be in the company of trailblazing women making their mark across so many business sectors in enormously creative ways,” said McLaughlin.

Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 170 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process.

“The judges were so impressed with the accomplishments of all of the Stevie Award-winning women and organizations. The 2017 Stevie Awards for Women in Business received a record number of nominations and had a record number of ceremony attendees. We congratulate all of this year’s Grand, Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners for their achievements,” said Michael Gallagher, Founder and President, Stevie Awards.
