Letter from ExamSoft's New Chief Executive Officer

My name is Sebastian Vos and I have recently joined the team as ExamSoft’s CEO. There are a few reasons why I decided to join ExamSoft, the most important being that I believe in the importance of assessment and outcomes-based teaching and learning. Second, ExamSoft has a truly exceptional, service-oriented team and our clients are thought leaders in assessment. Finally, I believe we have an outstanding product that has only begun to unlock the true value data-driven assessment and feedback and that potential is truly exciting for me.

Over the years, our secure-testing platform has evolved into a scalable and flexible intelligent assessment solution. However, as much as we have grown, the evolution continues; we need to make our products more intuitive. We need to be less event-driven and more focused on helping clients connect both formative and summative assessment into a seamless and continuous educational process.

I believe that education is a journey, one that moves an individual from being a novice to an expert, and all of us, students, faculty, and administrators exist somewhere in this continuum. ExamSoft has the opportunity to play a key role in this journey by helping improve programs with direct evidence of student learning, empowering faculty to make data driven decisions, and helping students perform to their highest potential with personalized feedback. All of these benefits have simply not been possible in the past, and we’re excited to be leading this charge.

I have spent the majority of my career working in education both in United States and abroad; most recently I was the Managing Director of Education for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America within the Health Sciences Division of Elsevier. In my twelve years at Elsevier I learned the critical importance of customer service and the due attention required to support a diverse set of client needs.

Those who know me, know that I am relentless in my focus on commitments. ExamSoft is committed to high quality product releases, user driven design that is easy, building upon our service-oriented culture, and keeping the lines of communication open with our clients. I am extremely excited to be joining the ExamSoft team and I look forward to meeting with as many of you as possible.
