SurveyMonkey Adds Board Director

Palo Alto, CA – SurveyMonkey, the leading online survey platform, today announced that Meg Whitman has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Whitman currently serves as Chairman, President, and CEO of HP.

“We are honored to have Meg join our board. Her vision, coupled with her track record of success and innovation at some of the most iconic software and Internet companies in the world, making her an extremely valuable addition to SurveyMonkey,” said company CEO Bill Veghte. “I am personally looking forward to Meg’s perspective as we focus on delivering solutions that provide convenient, real-time access to the insights, opinions and data that matter most to our customers.”

“I have followed SurveyMonkey for many years,” said Whitman. “I’ve also worked closely with several of the current Board members and there is a tremendously experienced and talented team in place. I look forward to helping to continue the momentum and capture the significant opportunities ahead.”

This past year, SurveyMonkey has been focused on helping customers do more with their survey results. Most recently, the company announced the acquisition of TechValidate, a webbased software platform that gives customers the ability to publish marketing content from their survey findings. The company also focused on providing context to stand-alone survey data by launching a platform this past April called SurveyMonkey Benchmarks where organizations can compare their performance against peers, competitors and companies of similar size.

In 1999, SurveyMonkey transformed the research industry when it created an online survey tool that was simple and elegant enough for everyone to use, not just market researchers. Today, over 25 million customers use SurveyMonkey in different ways, including capturing feedback, testing ideas and predicting elections.

“We could not be more thrilled to be adding such an experienced and talented executive to our Board,” said Zander Lurie, SurveyMonkey’s Chairman of the Board. “I am very much looking forward to working with Meg in this capacity and welcome her to the SurveyMonkey family.”

With the appointment of Whitman, SurveyMonkey’s Board of Directors will increase to nine members, including David Ebersman, Dana L. Evan, Ryan Finley, Lee Fixel, Zander Lurie, Sheryl Sandberg, Benjamin C. Spero and Bill Veghte.
