Verafin Wins Best Place to Work in Atlantic Canada

St. John’s, NL - Verafin Inc., North America’s leading cross-institutional Fraud detection and Anti-Money Laundering (FRAMLx) cloud-based software provider, announced earlier this month that it was named the Best Place to Work in Atlantic Canada. The Best Places to Work in Atlantic Canada project is a regional program managed by Best Companies Group in partnership with Progress magazine.

Verafin has placed on the prestigious list in the past, but this is Verafin’s first time making the top position. “We are very excited with where we placed this year since we did well in previous years,” says Colleen Dobbin, Verafin’s Director of Human Resources. “We couldn’t be prouder. It’s a really great moment for all of us.”

Best Companies Group (BCG) conducts a two-part process designed to gather detailed data about each participating company. In part one, the employer completes a questionnaire and in part two, employees of the company complete an employee survey. The aggregated information is combined to produce a detailed set of data enabling the analysts to determine the strengths and opportunities of the participating companies.

The categories of consideration are (1) Leadership and Planning; (2) Corporate Culture and Communications; (3) Role Satisfaction; (4) Work Environment; (5) Relationship with Supervisor; (6) Training, Development and Resources; (7) Pay and Benefits; and (8) Overall Engagement.

"If you want to know if employees love coming to work every day, and if you want to know if trust, respect, and communication permeate the culture… ask the employees. That’s exactly what we at BCG did to determine the Best Place to Work in Atlantic Canada,” says Peter Burke, President of Best Companies Group.

Verafin promotes a culture of caring, teamwork and continuous improvement on both the personal and professional level to ensure every employee’s success. The casual, open-concept environment encourages employees to always have fun, while progressive and flexible programs help them strike a satisfying work-life balance so they can achieve their various goals.

“We are proud to be selected as the best workplace in Atlantic Canada,” says Jamie King, Verafin’s CEO. “The key to our success is passionate people coming together to solve problems that have a real impact on society. Everyone at Verafin works together towards a common goal that motivates and inspires us.”
