Lucid Announces First International Expansion with New EMEA Headquarters in Amsterdam

South Jordan, Utah - Lucidchart, the leading cloud-based visual productivity platform, today announced the opening of its EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam. In the next two years, Lucidchart plans to hire approximately 40 new positions in Amsterdam across sales, marketing and customer success teams.

Located in the city center, the office marks Lucidchart's first international expansion and positions the company to accelerate its rapid global growth. More than 15 million people in over 180 countries and seven languages rely on Lucidchart to communicate visually and easily create and share simple flowcharts or complex, data-driven diagrams on any device. The company has recorded more than 140 percent growth in non-English speaking markets in a 12-month period. Lucidchart now generates 25 percent of its total revenue from Europe and over 33 percent from international users.

"A material number of the 700,000 new users we add each month are outside of the U.S., underscoring the strong global demand to think and communicate visually," said Dave Grow, president and COO of Lucidchart. "Amsterdam has an immensely talented, diverse workforce representing the breadth of Europe, and we believe its energetic, innovative environment will provide a natural extension of our U.S. HQ's vibrant culture. This expansion demonstrates our commitment to becoming a global company and better serving our fast-growing user and customer footprint in Europe and beyond."

The office opening comes on the heels of Lucidchart's $72 million funding round from Meritech Capital, ICONIQ Capital and Spectrum Equity. The company also recently deepened its executive bench with the appointments of Cara Frisbie as vice president and general counsel and Elliot Smith as senior vice president of finance.

"We are delighted that Lucidchart is opening a European office in Amsterdam," said Dieter Oude Kotte, senior advisor at amsterdam in business, the official foreign investment agency of the Amsterdam area. "Lucidchart adds to the dynamic cluster of SaaS companies choosing to serve their customers in the European market from the Netherlands. This decision highlights the competitive offering and attractiveness of Amsterdam for technology companies as they scale and internationalize. The city's world-class talent pool, vibrant tech scene and proximity to Europe's highest concentration of global decision makers have created a compelling business environment which will continue to attract investment from companies operating in this space. We look forward to welcoming Lucidchart into the Dutch economy and, as a hyper-connected local government agency, help them access our talented pool of professionals from the technology sector."
