SurveyMonkey Adds Susan Decker to Board of Directors

SurveyMonkey, the world’s leading People Powered Data platform, announced today the addition of Susan (Sue) Decker, CEO and co-founder of Raftr and former Yahoo! President, to its board of directors. Sue brings nearly thirty years of leadership experience and business strategy across various industries including finance, media, retail and services. She held various executive management positions at Yahoo! for nearly a decade and currently serves on the board of some of America’s most valuable companies. Most recently, she co-founded Raftr, a social platform to find your people and get current on what’s happening on your college campus or in real-life.

“Sue is an experienced leader, an entrepreneur and a renowned advisor to some of the brightest executives in the world across a myriad of industries,” said Zander Lurie, SurveyMonkey’s CEO. “She was pivotal in the transformation of several high-profile companies and has deep experience in strategy, finance and operations, which will be invaluable to SurveyMonkey in our journey. I look forward to the counsel she will bring to our business and corporate culture.”

Sue currently serves as a member of the board of directors of two Fortune 500 companies—Berkshire Hathaway, and Costco Wholesale—and is also a director of Vail Resorts and Vox Media. She served in various executive roles at Yahoo! between 2000-2009. During that period, Yahoo!'s revenue increased 600% from $1.1 billion in 2000 to $7.2 billion in 2008, while net income increased from $71 million to $423 million.

“I am drawn to high-quality companies with value-driven cultures and whose products and people I love. SurveyMonkey hits all of these criteria,” said Sue Decker. “SurveyMonkey built a strong brand by empowering curious individuals within organizations to make great decisions. I believe there’s a significant growth opportunity to empower businesses to ask the right questions to their employees, customers and market that will lead to actionable data to help them succeed. I am honored and thrilled to join this team and board.”

Decker joins board chairman David Ebersman and members Dana L. Evan, Ryan Finley, Lee Fixel, Zander Lurie, Sheryl Sandberg, Brad Smith, Ben Spero, and Serena Williams.
